I spent several hours at the Edinburgh Cancer Centre in the Western General hospital, primarily in consultation with Dr.Brown.
I was immensely impressed by Dr. Brown and all the staff with whom I had the good fortune to interact, and cannot find adequate words to describe the professionalism and candour which Dr. Brown displayed.
The NHS receives endless criticism, much of which is unmerited and probably to do with operational procedures and inefficiencies of different varieties - and not the real people who run it - so when one has the good luck to be dealt with by consummate and clearly dedicated people such as all those with whom I came into contact today the real value and effectiveness of the NHS stands out like a blinding beacon of light.
Thank you to all of you - I am deeply in debt to you and am encouraged by the knowledge that I will be well monitored as the future slides by and I receive more of your wonderful help.
