"My experience at Day surgery"

About: Queen Margaret Hospital / Day Surgery

(as the patient),

I went in to have two wisdom teeth removed and in my experiences I feel like the should have some magazine or books for people to read while waiting. The staff where really friendly and would defo tell people to use the day surgery unit at the queen Margaret.

The other down slider is that no one is aloud in the bay with you so your by yourself.

But overall I was really happy with my experience.

Dear Cewing

Thank you for taking the time to post your feedback in Care Opinion, I am glad that you had a positive experience while in the Day Surgery Unit and would recommend it.

Unfortunately due to infection control measures we are not allowed to hold magazines for patients to share. However there are facilities on site for you to purchase a magazine and we are in the process of preparing an information leaflet for patients that addresses this issue.

Provision is made on the ward for patients who need relative support prior to their surgery, and we also encourage patients to chat to each other to pass the time and support each other prior to surgery. if this caused you any distress I would be happy to speak with you regarding this. I can be contacted on 01383 623623 ext 23010.

Once again thank you for your feedback and raising your issues, I hope I have addressed them for you.

Kind Regards

Nola
