"Fathers life saving care"

About: Crosshouse Hospital / Accident & Emergency Scottish Ambulance Service / Emergency Ambulance

(as a relative),

My father who is in his eighties was stung on the lip by a bee and took an anaphylaxis. He collapsed in our local garage and stopped breathing. An ambulance was called and within minutes he had oxygen and adrenaline and rushed to Crosshouse emergency department. The paramedics and A and E staff are complete hero’s as there is no doubt they saved his life. The care both my father and our family have received over the entirety of his stay has been nothing short of amazing. The nurses in 3f have been excellent and  work so hard and deliver first class compasssionate care. I want to thank everyone at Crosshouse Hospital for their wonderful care and general excellence. I can not thank you enough.

I respond initially to most of the posts and ensure they are passed to the appropriate team whether they are compliments, observations or grumbles. It is important to make sure all issues are addressed and I try to encourage that to happen for all the posts as required.

Dear Karma1234,

Oh, dear, it is very concerning when something that seems so ordinary take on such a turn but thank fully everything went so well and so quickly too. I will pass your lovely post and praise to the teams, I am sure it will be very gratefully received.

Thank you so much for sharing such a lovely post with a great outcome for your father (and you of course).

I trust your father is fully recovered and back home, fit and well.

Best wishes,

Eunice

Hi Karma1234,

Thank you very much for taking the time to tell your story and feedback so positively about the care you received from our control room staff and the paramedics who were first on scene.

It is always great to hear and I am sure our staff will be delighted to hear that you thought the care was amazing.

They will also be keen to hear how your father is doing and I hope he is recovering well and back to his best.

We'll share your story and experiences internally to ensure the staff involved hear your excellent feedback.

Thanks again and all the best,

Mark
