"Support in my decision to stay abstinent from alcohol"

About: Inclusion Recovery Hampshire / Winchester

(as a service user),

ACT. The course has an excellent facilitator!

One of the groups I access is ACT which has helped me learn and implement a tool which supports me in my decision to stay abstinent from alcohol which I have been struggling with for many years. The group helps me understand about my thoughts, feelings and behaviour which leads me to pick up a drink. The tool enables me to accept my feelings and emotions and make a choice in how I react to them. Where this reaction used to be blocking them out by alcohol I now pause in these feelings and either let them pass or behave in a less damaging manner.
