(as the patient),

Me and my girlfriend went to Ayrshire maternity unit to have our new baby.

We would like to mention the excellent experience we received and it was simply down to the midwifes who were with us. Over the course of 24 hours labour we had 6 midwifes looking after us and one midwife, Alison, was outstanding, she catered to our needs and made the full process much much easier.

I personally think the midwives are undervalued and don’t have the equipment - at one point the light on her phone was used which is quite embarrassing for the NHS.

Dear Stuart Hill,

Congratulations on your new wee baby's birth. I am pleased to hear that you were well looked after in the main and I will be delighted to pass this to the team, and Alison. on your other point, I am not sure why your girlfriends phone light was needed but I will pass this to the management team for their consideration.

Thank you so much for taking time (as this very busy time) to share this with us. I hope you both get enough sleep and you are not submitting this story during the night because you are already up!
