"Blood Test"

About: Bedford Hospital South Wing / Clinical haematology

My eldest son is needle phobic and had to have a blood test today. He got himself in a bit of a state prior to the blood test. I explained to the nurse that took my son's blood that he usually feels very unwell and was extremely apprehensive and anxious about his blood test. The nurse concerned was kind, considerate and extremely caring.

Her main concern was that my son, inspite of the fact that others were waiting. It made such a huge difference to his experience and hopefully next time he won't be so worried about a blood test. I wanted to say a huge thank you to the lady and the hospital. While it may be a little thing to have a blood test, for my son it was a huge thing and her kindness and care made all the difference to how he felt after the blood test.
