I recently gave birth to my second child at Ayrshire Maternity Unit. I was admitted to be induced and ended up having an emergency c-section. I was a very anxious mum to be and I want to acknowledge the fantastic care, help and support I received from all the staff involved in my care. They genuinely made my experience less traumatic- and were lovely bunch of people who clearly are passionate about what they do. Specifically the names that I remember:
Debbie & Hazel - midwives on induction ward
Wendy - midwife who looked after me in recovery
Tina - midwife care assistant
Margaret & Linda - auxiliary staff who helped remind me how to feed and bath the wee one
Elaine - in the lunch room
Liz - registrar who delivered my baby and who was fabulous with me in the run up to a decision being made. She gained my trust very quickly
Ashley - anaesthetic Dr - Incredible support leading up to me going in to theatre and also when we were in theatre - she was right there for me and hugely reassuring, sharing a good balance of information but not overwhelming me
This list is not exhaustive - I wanted to acknowledge the superb experience that I had from when I went into the induction ward until I left with my son
Many thanks to all -you are doing an amazing job
