"Absolutely Fabulous"

About: Borders General Hospital / Accident & Emergency Borders General Hospital / General Medicine

(as the patient),

Recently I had to call NHS 24, I was dizzy and no balance. The ambulance arrived around 11 pm and worked on me for about three quarters of an hour then decided to take me to the hospital the crew were fantastic. When I got to the A&E the staff could not have been more helpful and friendly and could not do enough for me. They too were absolutely fantastic.

When I got into ward 6 at about 4am the care in the ward went to an even higher level, all the staff I met were so helpful, friendly and very professional and very courteous and even though they were run off their feet they still had time to smile and no requests were any bother to them, they could not do enough for me, they were absolutely fabulous.

Given their workload overcrowding and understaffing all these girls and male nurses are not paid nearly enough for the good work they do.

Dear Blue Badge,

Thank you for taking the time to tell us of your experience in the Borders General Hospital. I am sorry that you needed to come into hospital but am really delighted that you felt well cared for during your time with us.

Having come through an incredibly tough winter, I am really proud to work with such an amazing, multi-disciplinary team of professionals who despite being a little weary still manage to smile and reassure each individual patient, during what is a scary and uncertain time.

I will forward your very kind words to both the Emergency Medicine and MAU staff and I know that hearing your story will be a great morale boost!

I very much hope that you have now fully recovered from your acute illness!

Best wishes,

Lynn

Hi Blue Badge,

I'd like to echo Lynn's comments - it is absolutely fantastic to receive such positive feedback! We'll ensure this good news is shared with the Emergency Department and ward 8 MAU teams. They'll be deligted to hear your story.

Hope you are feeling better.

Best wishes

Gareth
