Visited the A&E on 10th April around 12 midnight. I had an extremely painful left earache, after 2 and half hours of waiting a nurse/doctor saw me and said "I can see lots of wax in both ears" and "all I can see is wax", use olive oil drops and there is absolutely nothing we can do! She was in rush and did not make attention to my pain what so ever. 2 days later I happened to be in Cambridge and was still in a lot of pain and ended up in A&E at Addenbrookes Hospital as soon as the doctor saw me and examined my ear he said "the right ear is completely clean but the left ear has a nasty, very red infection" This has affected my hearing, there is a hole in my ear and the infection has spread down to my throat. I have been provided with antibiotics and strong painkillers and have to visit audiologist once the infection is cleared after 10 days.
The treatment should have been started a lot sooner, however, because of the silly inexperienced doctor/staff member at Northwick hospital A&E department and not being able to distinguish between wax and infection, I could end up with a heating loss in one ear!
