"Dislocated Shoulder & Fracture"

About: Croydon University Hospital / Accident and emergency

I went to A&E on 09/04/18 at around 10:00 with a very severe pain due to dislocated shoulder and went thorough routine checks that went well. it took up to hour and half for various doctors to see me with what was happening with my injuries.

Eventually I was diagnosed with fracture as well.

A very nice orthopedic doctor went through more test and told me all is fine but dislocated shoulder and fractured have to be fixed and will be seen by orthopedic surgeon. The surgeon went through same earlier tests and explained 2 solutions to fix injuries and discharged me at 18:30 saying a shoulder specialist consultant will have his opinion and I will get a call next day.

On the next day didn't get a call so i called various number including orthopedic direct line. To my surprise this number is not recognized.

After a long wait on telephone for urgent care center that checked me first couldn't find details and so gave up still with suffering with pain.

Dear Harshad

I was very sorry to learn of your concerns about your treatment and I have asked our trauma team to look into the points you have raised.

They have explained that the plan was for your x-rays and scans to be reviewed the next day by a multidisciplinary team, to determine how best to take your treatment forward. The team are very sorry if this was not explained clearly and I understand that you are now booked to see the specialist next Monday, and a letter confirming this has been sent. The team have also apologised for the problems you encountered when you tried telephoning – we are not sure which number you tried when you called, but the contact number for the team is 020 8401 3981. Please do let them know if you have any further questions or concerns.

Kind regards

Graham
