"Was taken here after suffering seizure"

About: St James's University Hospital

Treated in a+e for seizure and suffered two more seizures. Was admitted to medical assessment ward J27 where I stayed for 5 days. During my time there I was treated fairly well but as I also have coeliac disease I was not shown a gluten free menu for my meals meaning I had four Baked potatoes and three Omelettes. When I asked for Chicken without gravy I was told this was not possible. Coeliac disease is an illness not a chosen diet.

Thank you for taking the time to write to us.

I am very sorry that you felt let down by our inpatient catering service when you were a recent inpatient on J27. I have passed your comments on to our Estates and Facilities Management Team for information.

I would also ask that you contact the Trusts Patient Advice and Liaison Service (PALS) on 0113 206 6261 or alternatively email patientexperience.leedsth@nhs.net this would enable us discuss this matter further with you.

Again, thank you for taking the time to write to us.

With kind regards

Rosie
