In Urology Day Case for insertion of ureteric stent. Ward staff welcoming and very attentive. Often asking if I am warm enough etc. Then to theatre. Pleasant conversation with staff while they got me ready (spinal injection - which I've had before - must be the anaesthetic of choice). Found that Registrar went to the same school as me in Crosby - I left in 1963! Procedure completed smoothly (and painlessly of course). Back to ward for injection to wear off. Again all staff very attentive - constantly asking if cold , in pain etc (no). Sandwich for lunch (had these before - very good). Don't know if the injection was new but it seemd to wear off much quicker than in the past so got to leave at about 3pm. N.B. All staff seemed to enjoy working with each other. Must mention modern medicine itself - but at a loss for words. Read about Samuel Pepys being 'cut for the stone'.
"A pleasant morning and afternoon"
