"Excellent maternity care"

About: John Radcliffe Hospital / Maternity

I had my baby in December 2017, from the moment I arrived at the Spires I was treated with care and respect. I had 2 midwives with me for the duration of my delivery. When we realised we needed additional support during my labour, the midwives remains calm and transferred me downstairs to the labour ward. The doctor who joined us, made sure my baby arrived safely at a massive 11lbs. Following delivery I was taken to theatre and looked after by a massive team of nurses, a doctor and anaesthetist, and I can honesty say I was in the safest hands. They all made me feel relaxed. Over night the anaesthetist stayed close and said he was on hand if I needed help (low threshold for intervention with low blood pressure, high pulse and the need for a blood tranfusion). Nothing was too much bother for the staff on the observation ward or level 5 ward. My baby was taken to special care and I was too unwell to visit straight away, they took the time to get updates for me and even wheel me down there when I was able. Once we were both better and staying on level 5 until my baby was 7 days old, we were left alone to adjust to being a family of 3 and caring for our baby but were also checked up on occasionally to make sure we were all fine. I will definitely use the JR maternity services for any other children I may have. Thank you
