"Triage"

I am a 77 year old man.

I have had a bad cough, wheezy and crackilng chest for a few days and unable to sleep.

I went to the Urgent Treatment Centre 06.50 on Sunday morning.

There was only one patient in the waiting area - a small girl with her parents.

After waiting for two hours I asked how much longer I would have to wait.

I was told that I was top of the list but they would be dealing with children first.

I went back to my seat. During the next 15 minutes, 3 more parents and children arrived.

I dawned on me that I could be waiting all day so I went home.

I have had excellent servicew from the UTC in past on several occasions - I may try dialling 111 next time I want see a Doctor
