I was admitted over night to Northumbria Specialist Emergency Care Hospital from the Urgent Care Centre at Hexham General. I had an ECG done at the UCC but this was not reviewed at NSECH until the following morning and only after I had mentioned it. A further ECG was then done. Both showed an anomaly. I also mentioned that I had had a 24 hour heart trace done recently at another Northumbria Trust hospital. I was told the results could not be viewed as these were not routinely put ‘on the system’. I had a CT scan and MRI to rule out a stroke and in all everything took 27 hours for me to be told to see my GP for follow up.
While the care at each venue was good there was a lot of the waiting around which seemed to be due to a lack of communication and coordination between the UCC and NSECH - it felt everything was done twice by different “silos” not parts of one system trusting each other’s work
"Lack of coordination and attention to detail"
