"Been told no appointments available"

About: Chelsea & Westminster Hospital / Ophthalmology

I received my usual letter to call to make an opthalmology appointment. I have just called to make an appointment for my annual opthalmology check up. I have been attending the hospital for over 10 years. I have just been told that there are no appointments available.

What does that mean?

Just like that, no appointments. This is ridiculous.

I asked to be put through to the department but of course the phone just rang and no one answered.

Legally I am entitled to an appointment within 18 weeks.
