"Know I know why I didn't get my promised..."

About: Westgate Surgery

I was very upset to learn today , that the gp I have been seeing at Westgate surgery was on sick leave this week, but not only that; she has handed in her notice. I wonder who forgot to tell the call centre staff she was sick and not holding her surgery on Tuesday20th March. That is why I didn't get my appt. Sad that she has left but am not surprised. She was a very kind and dedicated doctor and was too good to work in the shambles that Westgate surgery has become. There is little point in asking for patients comments and reviews if you don't acknowledge them and try to improve the service nor having Patient Participation Groups if it is just to make it look as if you are giving patients a voice when you clearly are not. You are going through the motions of what you are required to do but just paying lip service. Quite shocking!

Thank you for your feedback. Apologies you did not get to speak with the GP of your choice, unfortunately we have a GP on long term sickness, therefore any pre booked clinics had to be rearranged with an alternative GP to avoid cancelling appointments, as you can appreciate sickness can not be planned for and the surgery worked quickly and efficiently to accommodate all patients hoping to avoid disappointment. Would you like to join our Patient Participation Group and be a patient voice, please pop in to surgery and register you details if this would be of interest to you. Thank you
