"Caring And Prompt Service"

About: Gladstone Medical Centre

In June 2017, over a 10 day period, I developed a deep ulcerated wound on my ankle. I have suffered from varicose vein problems all my adult life and this greatly impairs the healing process and I’m also over 80. The pain was such that I could barely put any weight on the foot. I contacted the surgery early in the morning and the GP asked me to come in straight away and I was seen 10 minutes before his regular consultations started. A community nurse was booked for me and I was asked to see the nurse to change the dressing. I was expecting the first visit to be in a day or so, but the community nurse knocked on my door just after mid-day the same day. I was visited twice a week at home by the community nurse, to change the dressings and clean the wound, which finally healed in late November last year. A member of the reception staff rang me in early September to book a follow up appointment with the GP.

As usual, the surgery was wonderful and as were the Brent community nurse service, and I am very grateful for their continued service and support.
