After a heart attack, aged 53 I was admitted to St Georges after being sent up from the Royal Surrey, Guildford. I had two stents fitted. It took 2 hours unfortunately - I must be an awkward patient!
I am sorry that I have not left a review before although I have of course written to the ward, but I wanted to say that I will be forever grateful for the kind and expert care that I received. For the staff concerned, I was another patient. For me, I will never forget them - the surgeons and the nursing staff. You don't ever forget someone who looks after you in the middle of the night when you have a problem in intensive care, you never forget the expertise as well as the reassuring words of your surgeon.
My son is now at Oxford and studying cardiology. I haven't meant to influence him but I am immensely proud of course.
Since my operation I have lost weight, become fit, reduced my work commitments and seen life in a more colourful way. I run 5k easily, play 18 holes of golf 2/3 times a week and hope to run 10k's this year. I always feel indebted to St Georges and the team of wonderful people who I will never forget. They gave me a whole new lease of life.
"Thank you!"
