"Over night stay"

About: University Hospital (Coventry) / Gynaecology

I was transferred to ward 23 at 3am in the morning after spending 2 nights on ward 21 following a difficult gallbladder removal on the 9/3/18 . The staff I found were very uncaring in there attitude if I asked any questions . on Sunday afternoon a nurse removed a stomach drain from me 11/3 she never once explained what she was doing it was very painful and on finish she left the wound uncovered even though it was bleeding my husband on visiting mentioned it to the nurse who just replied it was me never even bothered to take a look !! On the Monday 12/3 Around 12pm I was told by a nurse I was being discharged immediately as they needed the bed I had to get out of bed barely able to move dress and pack my things all within 10 mins with no help as the porters where outside waiting to take me to discharge lounge I asked for my sick not which the doctor said she had done there response was we don’t have one vist your GP no advice towards when my stitches where going to dissolve and aftercare .once in discharge was told I had to wait up to 6 hours for medication was also took for a X-ray as the think my ribs were cracked on the 11/3 when in X-ray refused to do it as not enough information now have to make a special vist to st cross for the X-ray which was the right one !! Throughly disappointied with the care and communication

Thank you for taking the time to leave a review of your care on NHS Choices.

I am very sorry to hear of your experience, this certainly isn't the standard we expect and I would urge you to contact our Patient Advice and Liaison team who can raise this with the manager for the area.

Please contact them by either telephone on 0800 028 4203 or by email feedback@uhcw.nhs.uk

Best wishes

The Communications Team
