"Staff wonderful , CarParks Shocking -cold..."

About: Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust - Queen's Medical Centre Campus / Maternity care

Visited my daughter on ward C29, Whilst sitting in the chairs nearest the windows we noticed how cold and draughty it was , I was holding baby so I moved position as I felt it far too cold for a new born baby. I have normally experienced maternity wards to be over warm previously.

Car park issues need to be seriously addressed, dark dimly lit on way back to car park 1, NO LIGHTS around the parking ticket machine and unable to process card payments, I feel if you were a lone female or elderly person walking back to your car you are vunerable.

Cmpared to Royal Derby you fail miserably QMC

Royal derby is highly lit around all car parks , ticket machines are accessible directly outside the main entrance too. I have seen other comments about people feeling unsafe walking back to their cars too

Thank you for taking the time to leave your feedback. As a result of your feedback we will be assessing the lighting around our estate (including in our car parks) to ensure it is adequate for the site. Any issues or improvements needed will be reported to our Estates team. Card payments are currently not accepted at the machine but car parking tickets dispensed from all our barrier car parks can be paid for by card at the Security office which is located on B Floor near the Main Entrance. There is also a grace period of 15 minutes given to allow for transit time to vehicles and exit. If anyone who visits our hospitals feels that they are not safe to walk back to their vehicle in the car park our Security team will happily to assist and provide an escort service to take you back to your vehicle. This service can be accessed via the Security Office and we will publicise that this is available to patients and staff.

Kind regards,

Paula Charlton, Soft FM Performance and QA Compliance Officer
