I have to visit the pathology dept. quite frequently and I have always found the nurses to be highly competent and friendly under what can sometimes be difficult circumstances. I find that if you treat people with respect and a cheerful greeting and don't grumble at them for things that they are not responsible for then you will get a similar response. More and more building around Corby is producing a big increase in patients using the Nuffield centre and this is putting huge pressure on the path lab in particular. They sometimes close the lab early because they have reached the maximum number they can handle to get the samples off to Kettering. I think this is perfectly reasonable. The only thing that might help in my opinion would an answerphone message activated if they do have to shut early but that is probably impractical. I have nothing but praise for those hard working and thoroughly likeable nurses.

Thank you for the nice words, this is always good to hear. We put more staff into Corby last year and will continue to review this. I will give the idea of an answer phone message some consideration but I am not sure that many people will use it.
