I had severe difficulty in breathing. Before coming to A & E I called into Parkside Surgery, Boston, who I'm registered with and as I had to pass it to get to the hospital. The GP receptionist refused me an emergency appt to see a Dr or asthma nurse for possible nebulizer despite I could barely talk and was bent over the desk.
As soon as I got to the A & E reception, explained what had brought me in, this very caring and observant lady realised my distressed state and in a gentle but reassuring voice said "please don't worry take a seat & someone will see you soon". It was such a relief to hear that involuntary tears ran, uncontrollably.
I only waited moments before I was seen. From triage to nurse to Dr I received so much care and reassurance. I had 3 nebulizer, x-ray, blood tests and sent home with steroids and anti-bs. I arrived approx 08. 30 & discharged approx 13. 00.
I felt that the A & E Team had worked miracles. From arriving in such a frighted state with extreme breathing difficulties to breathing with ease I was so grateful. Apparently it was a severe Asthma attack.
