"The end of life care of my 94 year old mum"

About: Leicester Royal Infirmary / Older people's healthcare

(as a relative),

Mum was in the hands of the wonderful nursing staff on Ward 31 for just over a week.

It soon became clear that she would not recover and needed end of life care.

It brings a tear to my eye while typing this as I remember the way they cared for her with so much compassion making sure she was treated with dignity and respect.

They dressed  her room with candles and flowers and were at pains to ensure her last hours were as comfortable as possible.

I would like to pay a special tribute to Deputy Sister Joyce  who not only made my mum’s last hours the best they could be but also  took the time to support me with such compassion.

Dear reviewer,

Many thanks for taking the time to leave a review at this difficult time. On behalf of the Trust we’d like to offer our deepest sympathies to you and your family. We are heartened by your kind comments – our staff work hard to provide exceptional care and compassion and we are pleased to hear that our staff demonstrated ‘Caring at its best’. We will share your words with the staff involved in your mum’s care and would like to take this opportunity to wish you all the best.

Kind regards,

Communications Team,
