"Excellent Treatment & Care. A few tweaks needed..."

About: Circle-Nottingham NHS Treatment Centre

Like everyone else, I was feeling apprehensive before my procedure. Like a lot of other patients I arrived early. Arriving by tram I found the bridge closed, and a notice would have been helpful giving an alternative way into The Circle. Luckily another patient showed me.

Waiting in the ground floor waiting area for 'opening time', the receptionist called something out from behind her desk, and some people moved. It was difficult to hear what she said, as she didn't approach us, just shouted. I went to the desk and enquired what she said, and it was to the effect that if we were waiting for a procedure, we could go up. It would have felt much more personal and nicer, if she had left her desk and approached the waiting patients, before making her announcement.

Likewise, upstairs, the nurses calling out patients names, spoke from doorways, and I overheard several elderly patients asking each other 'what did she say?'. Again it would have felt much nicer, if they could have just moved nearer to the waiting patients, before calling out names.

Patients before a procedure are extremely sensitive, and first impressions are important to having a good experience. The treatment I subsequently received during the procedure was first rate, and I couldn't have wished for a better doctor or team.
