"Walked out of AandE after five hours and no..."

About: Charing Cross Hospital / Accident and emergency

From the moment I arrived in the A and E department earlier today, 20.02.3018, I was disregarded and disrespected. Barely able to stand up due to nausea, I was made to walk to the waiting area because there were no wheelchairs left. When I said I was concerned i'd fall over, the nurse in charge of my care briefly said 'that's good' having little to know english language skill and walked off many meters in front of me. Things got worse and worse, I was put in an uncomfortable chair down a hall way, out of the way. Because of this, many people had to squeeze pass including wheelchaiirs which really hurt my legs as they were forced pass against them. When I mentioned this hurt, again the different nurse in charge of this assault ignored me and continued onwards.

After four hours of being trampled on and being ignored by nurses who struggled to speak a word of english, I never actually got to see a doctor. I couldn't stay sat up right any longer to decided to leave.

Thank you for your feedback and I am so sorry that you received such a poor patient experience at one of our A&E departments.

Could you please email me direct on martin.bowler@nhs.net with your full name, date and rough time this took place and also your date of birth as they would have logged you into the system.

Could you also copy and paste your original feedback below (below) so I will be able to locate you on our complaint system.

Kind regards

Martin
