I attended the Minor Injuries department of this hospital with an injury to my wrist. I was quickly seen, which is a big positive, however the positives ended there.
I explained my injury to the Staff Nurse, who did a very quick and minimal examination of the injury area, and declared it absolutely fine. My partner was not satisfied with this diagnosis, so we attended Minor Injuries at Cannock Chase Hospital for a second opinion.
Upon thorough examination there, my injury was discovered to be more severe than Lichfield diagnosed. I was sent immediately to Stafford County Hospital with a suspected fracture. After examination there, I was set up with an appointment at Stoke Hospital with an orthopedic consultant.
I do not believe that my injuries were taken seriously at Lichfield, and I am glad I got a secondary opinion.
The receptionist at Lichfield was helpful, and the hospital was very clean, however the care seemed to leave a lot to be desired.
"Sought a second opinion elsewhere."
