"Cannot get an appointment. Receptionists leave..."

About: The Strand Medical Centre

Reception staff are very rude and want to know exactly why you want to see a doctor. They usually answer the phone after half an hour to tell you there is no appointment and to go to the walk in.

Many thanks for your comments.

Please accept my apology for any inconvenience or unset you may have incurred.

In answer to your comment regarding reception staff being rude and wanting to know exactly why you want to see a doctor.

Reception staff have not taken it upon themselves to ask this, it is at the request of the Doctors at the practice.

We are a very busy practice and more often than not the phone lines are constantly busy with incoming calls.

Call times vary from call to call and unfortunately we cannot control the length of time designated staff are on each call.

We do endeavour to answer calls as efficiently as we can.

Once the urgent appointments have been taken for the day staff signpost patients to the Walk In Centre if they need medical attention that cannot wait.

We are currently looking into the telephone system to hopefully improve efficiency of incoming calls.

If you would like to discuss this matter further please contact the surgery and I will be more than happy to discuss this matter further.

Kind regards

Jane McGimpsey

Practice Manager
