"Overwhelmed by the care and attention"

About: Victoria Hospital / Cardiology

(as the patient),

Was very sore and tight chested last week.. Went to A&E, Kirkcaldy on Sunday afternoon and received quick treatment and tests, which confirmed wee heart attack.

After a day and a bit in Ward 21 was moved to Edin Royal on Tuesday. Angiogram and angioplasty on Wednesday and home on Wednesday night. I am overwhelmed by the care and attention I received from all staff in both hospitals, from nurses, doctors and surgeons, and not to forget the porters who wheeled me about and the catering staff.

Our NHS seems to get a lot of criticism but I couldn't fault the care I received during my short visit. After-care is also lined up with a nurse home visit and a GP appointment.

Thank you for finding the time to write your story on care opinions and while I'm sad to hear you had a heart attack last week, I'm delighted to hear you received such good care and attention and found the service to be quick and good during your short admission to hospital.
