I went for my first scan for my first baby so understandably we were very nervous hoping everything was going to be ok and well. The lady who did my scan didn’t speak hardly through it and when I said I was nervous she didn’t respond. Was so lovely to see my baby for the first time but then when I asked the lady if everything looked normal and ok she replied with ‘it has a head, body and 4 limbs’ and that’s as far as the conversation went.

Came out feeling quite annoyed as I felt my first experience was ruined!

Thank you for taking the time to feed back about your recent experience on the ultrasound department. I am sorry that you feel that the care you received falls below expected standards. Whilst concentration during an ultrasound examination is important for the sonographer, effective communication with patients should be of paramount importance. I will feed your comments back to the team and impress upon them the importance of professional conduct and a caring attitude. Once again I am sorry for your experience.
