I have just returned home from having a large operation at Blackburn Royal Hospital and feel that I must comment on the care given to me over a period of the eight days I spent in hospital,in November I was referred from the physiotherapy dept at clitheroe for an MRI scan which revealed an aortic aneurysm which resulted in a ct scan ,the outcome being that surgery would be required. Having been nearly 50 years since I had to use a hospital bed and having read only negative things about the NHS was unsure what to expect .HOW WRONG I don't know about the politics but I cannot praise the treatment that I received enough ,as you would expect from major surgery I was transferred to critical care ,later that night I required a second visit to the theatre after people were called in from their homes later spending two days in critical care where the care must be second to none .After being transferred to ward ward 20 where once again the care from all the staff from the surgeons down to the house keeping gave caring dignified care . all this service cost me nothing HOW MANY countries have this we have a wonderful service that should be praised more and look for the positives instead of only the negatives.WELL DONE NHS.
