"Exceptional care"

About: Cheltenham General Hospital / Trauma and orthopaedics

(as the patient),

Several years ago I was diagnosed with Osteoarthritis of the hip. As time progressed and my symptoms worsened, I was put on the NHS waiting list for a Total Hip Replacement. It was only a matter of a few months before I received my new hip.

The staff, in every department that I had contact with, were exceptionally courteous, professional and I was treated with the upmost dignity.

The staff, especially on the ward, were probably understaffed, but this did not deter anyone of them to ensuring that everyone’s needs were catered for. Nothing was too much trouble, whether it was night or day, they always had a smile and were genuinely wanting to give the best possible care they could.

The food was very acceptable, it is not the ritz, but I was not on holiday, I was recovering from a major operation and I could not have asked for more.

So many people complain and moan about the NHS, but I cannot share those concerns or views.

I was treated extremely well and I wish to thank everyone who helped me during my experience.

Well done to everyone at Cheltenham General Hospital.
