"Total Compassion and Care"

About: Royal Preston Hospital / Gynaecology

I was admitted as an emergency due to severe abdominal pain, however due to bed shortages was put into the gynaecology ward as a sleep out, this was not a problem as i was seen on a daily basis by my own colorectal surgeon and although being in the wrong ward which specialised in my condition all the nursing staff, cleaners, care assistants, house keeper, receptionist and doctors made my stay a very comfortable one. Nothing was ever too much trouble. I unfortunately ended up enduring an excruciating pain at one point of my hospital stay to which the nurses and doctor for that area thought could be a kidney stone i was immediately given adequate pain relief until my own consultant arrived and while all this was on going my dignity was maintained. I honestly can not fault any of the team for the compassionate care that i received while in hospital and wish to thank each and every one of them.

This is wonderful to read and will mean a lot to our very dedicated and hard working Gynaecology department staff and the allied staff such as domestics who make such a huge contribution to our patients' stay in hospital.

Thank you for sharing it with us
