"Lack of team cohesion and leadership in Brodie..."

About: St George's Hospital (Tooting) / Neurology

Transferred to Brodie ward for 2 nights.

Didn't know who was who - couldn't read staff name badges, no assigned nurse until day 2, no welcome or introduction. Lots of staff walking around doing their work but I had no real idea what was going on and who was looking after me or what to expect which was unsettling after neuro surgery.

Toilet contained a full bedpan, incontinence pad on the floor and flannel.

'Told off' by cleaner for not putting my stuff in the designated bag which wasn't there. I really didn't need that!

No doubt nursing staff undertake some really serious clinical work on Brodie but in my view that is undermined by lack of attention to helping patients feel secure in their environment.
