"Visit with my wife to see go at a&e"

My Wife was advised by the emergency GP to visit A&E to be checked over for persistent vertigo.

We attended at St James A&E at 4 pm Friday 2 February 2018. We were advised that we would be better seeing the GP at A&E for assessment. We were quite happy with this and sat outside the GP, office. Nothing happened for about 40 minutes when the doctor came out of his office and handed a woman a typed written letter.

He returned to his office and after a few minutes he called another patient into the office. The patient then left the office and sat in the waiting room. After a large space of time he again came out of the office and handed the patient a typed written letter.

After a few minutes he again called another patient into the office and the same procedure took place. t 6 pm exact he left the office with his coat on and left the building. In two hours he had dealt with three patients.

It was obvious that the time between seeing patients the Doctor was typing out the letters.

I have never seen a more severe example regarding waste of medical resources.

This Doctor will be getting paid in excess of £100.000 per year for typing out letters.

Why does he not have a medical secretary.

The NHS is always bleating about being short of money to blame waiting times.

I will be contacting my MP regarding this waste of money.

We informed the duty nurse that we were not happy with the service and that we were leaving as my wife was feeling a bit better. We were told that another doctor would be comming to deal with the quite large amount of patients. At 610pm the new doctor had not arrived. We then left the hospital as we had no idea how much longer we would have to wait for treatment.

This is a very poor example of the NHS.
