"A day case operation"

About: Royal Aberdeen Children's Hospital / Out Patient Department

(as a parent/guardian),

I was recently in the day case unit for a tooth extraction.   The staff were all very nice, talked to me and explained exactly what would happen.   They also gave me and my puppy teddy strawberry smelling masks to help us go to sleep for the operation.   Afterwards I was able to give mummy and daddy lots of cuddles and got some yummy yogurt to eat - 3 cartons as I was super hungry!   There was a big playroom with lots of toys and books to read where I could go beforehand.

Dear Pleased mummy

Thank you very much for asking your Mummy to leave the lovely feedback for the Day Case Unit.

I am so glad that you and your teddy had masks that smelt so nice. I think Mummy and Daddy will have been worried about you having your anesthetic but it sounds like you had a nice day with all the toys and tasty yogurts.

I will make sure the staff in the Day Case Unit know that you had a good day as it makes them very happy to hear that things have gone well for the children they look after.

Thank you again and I hope you feel much better now.
Caroline
