"CARDIOLOGY DEPARTMENT VISIT JANUARY 31 2018"

i was referred to Scarborough General Hospital Cardiology Department by my GP in Sleights following episodes of Atrial Fibrillation/Arrhythmia. My wife and I were extremely impressed with the Department, and the excellent staff that dealt with me. I was seen almost immediately to have routine checks made re Blood Pressure, Height ,Weight and a 10 branch ECG prior to seeing the Consultant . The waiting room was warm, bright, beautifully clean and comfortable with tea and coffee facilities. The Consultant came for me at 1.50pm - my appointment was at 1.50pm !! The Consultant was one of one particular doctor's team. She greeted me by my name, told me her name and said she would be looking after me today. My wife and I were amazed at how friendly and kind she was, and made us feel totally at ease for the whole of the 45 minute consultation. Her knowledge of my cardiac problems was spot on, and she outlined possible treatment plans and further investigations required simply and clearly with plenty of opportunity given for questions. We left the Department at 2.50pm and felt really uplifted by the whole experience. It is little wonder that this Department has been rated 5 stars by its patients as I have just added another 5 stars to the total. My GP gave me a choice of Hospitals to attend for investigation, either James Cook, Middlesbrough or Scarborough General. My Wife, Mother in Law and Father have all been in and outpatients at Scarborough Hospital over the years . My father and I were under the care of one particular doctor ( an absolute star!! ) for a number of years and we would always put Scarborough as our first choice for medical treatment. I look forward to my further visits to the Cardiology Department , secure in the knowledge that if anyone can sort me out, this Department can!
