"Consultant attitude terrible"

About: Manor Hospital

I was referred to this hospital via the NHS route for a cystoscopy

I needed to change the first appointment which required me to be at the hospital at 7.30am.

Trying to change the appointment was difficult as I rang and left messages and had to do this several times before I received a call back. The member of staff was abrupt and my husband was left in a state of shock after speaking to her. Appointment was eventually changed but had to remain at 7.30am. 'Who has asked you to be on the ward at 7.30am' was yelled at me! Please don't be rude, maybe try another job as you are unhappy.

On the day of the procedure the nurses were lovely, the consultant however charged into my room where I was nervously waiting, slapped down a form and pen and shouted that risks were infection and bleeding, pointed to where I needed to sign and when I had signed, picked up the form and stormed out.

Please will you try and have a improved 'bed side manner', it costs nothing. Maybe further

training is required.

For the record, I did end up with an infection.

I am sorry to hear about your experience at BMI The Manor Hospital. Our goal is always to deliver great care and we are always disappointed when patients are unhappy with the service we provided. I have asked for this to be investigated to understand what happened so we can improve services to patients.

If you could get in touch at katy.jones@bmihealthcare.co.uk so that we can get the full details that would be great.

Thank you

Katy Jones
