"Patient with severe M.E."

About: Eastbourne District General Hospital

My son Tom was recently discharged after 13 months in Eastbourne Hospital. He has a very complex condition, which unfortunately has very little understanding or research.

The two consultants were outstanding in their care & compassion towards Tom and did their utmost to help as much as they could. They listened to the patient, which many other medical staff need to learn.

I understand how much pressure all staff are under, but a few minutes to listen makes so much difference.

Not all staff were caring or kind, but they were in the minority.

All the housekeeping staff were lovely, kind & considerate.

Overall the DGH came up trumps!

Thank you for taking the time to provide feedback about your son's experience with Gastrointestinal and Liver Services at Eastbourne DGH.

As a trust, our top priority is to deliver high quality care, and 'listening' and involving patients is a key element for achieving this.

We're pleased to hear that Tom received outstanding care and compassion from two of our consultants.

Please be assured that your feedback will be shared with the teams.

They will be happy to read your kind comments and receive your praise.
