I was sent to AP by my GP with suspected Brain Stem Stroke.
Was swiftly dealt with at A and E and moved to Stroke Ward within 2 hours of arrival.
Felt very reassured by A&E staff.
Spent Just over 24 hours in Hospital during which time I had CAT, MRI Scans and various other tests and examinations.
Well coordinated and kept informed throughout.
Consultant explained what to expect on discharge - This included visits to AP Eye clinic and CardioVascular Clinic - at all times f let I was being treated well and what was promised regarding appointments all happened.
After about 8 weeks met Consultant and Stroke Nurse again - I felt I was recovering well and they enlisted the help of the Acquired Brain Injury Team from Countess of Chester to help with my rehab.
The ABI team visited me at home and gave me fantastic support and advice.
I was also visited by the Stroke Association who again gave me support.
Well on the mend now.
“I’m Impressed with the NHS”!!!
