"Emergency Dental Care"

About: Kent & Canterbury Hospital

I had been working through a very bad aching tooth which turned into an abcsess and facial swelling.

Being unwilling to return to 'my dentist' who had charged me £400 for bad dental work which resutled excruciating pain and a tooth which simply fell apart later.

My appiontment with Guys Hospital in London was still three weeks away.

Given that my own GP or the local emergency walk in centre wouldn't see me with any tooth related pain I had no choice at all but to wait until I had finished my work roster and then attend Canterbury out of hours emergency treatment at Canterbury hospital.

I drove twenty miles to get there on time, by appointnent only to have to wait an hour and a half to be seen by a dentist who's spoken english language skills were so lacking as to be incomprehensible. The consulatation involved the dentist poking his finger into my abcess and asking me if it hurt,,,,,,,, followed by advice to take paracetamol and a bill for £30 for a course of antibiotics.

I could have had an online consultation over the internet with a different dentsts and avoided the finger poking into my abscess, and had the anti biotics delivered to my door.

God I just love the nanny state, pararcetamol for excruciating pain relief, really?
