"No apology for delay."

About: Crawley Hospital / Gastroenterology

(as the patient),

Area clean and welcoming. Nurse had someone else's details in my named folder when they came to discuss my procedure. Not very reassuring as surely the folder contents should have been double checked before speaking to me? They asked if I had procedure before. I said yes, 5 years ago. They did not run through risks of procedure but asked me to sign Consent form.

Endoscopist was late arriving at hospital. No-one informed me of delay but other patient who was first on appointment list told me.

Staff at Endoscopy Reception desk were extremely noisy. We do not wish to know all about the dramas in their lives! Waiting area just other side of desk and the other lady sitting opposite me was very nervous about her procedure. Our nurses did speak to us from time to time but seemed oblivious to the noise around us. Endoscopist made no apology for delay.

Procedure went as expected. I was given Colonoscopy report and nurse signing me off was very helpful and caring.

Suffered from very runny nose which started directly I got home. I investigated online and found many people complaining of this allergic reaction after having nasal tubing during sedation. I was not made aware this might happen?
