"Basics not in place."

About: Basildon University Hospital / Accident and emergency

I am writing this on behalf of my dad. Being as he is so very elderly and from other experiences as well as the current one there are wards/ staff who treat the elderly especially those with dementia as sub humans.

I told A & E that my dad was constipated on 17/1 ( I had told the ambulance crew on 14/1 the same but they didn't notice my dad's pneumonia & left him at home. I told the RAS lady on 14/1 who didn't notice my dad's pneumonia or UTI and offered no care. So by 17/1 he had a heart attack added to pneumonia & UTI. I told AMU East on 18/1 & again on 19/1 each time they were sorting it. Only today on William Harvey after I told them did they do anything & gave him senna. My dad was on IV fluids but they were stopped yesterday. . He is hardly drinking & the oxygen is making him very dry so he can't swallow his food. I have drawn this to the attention of a nurse who is to draw it to someone else's attention.

Water is s basic. Why do I have to point out a basic?

There is a man on the ward , poor soul, who stinks like a tramp. He is stinking the whole end of the ward out. He is wandering around the bays.

Why hasn't he been bathed and cleaned up ? Surely he us an infection risk to everyone ..including himself . Not only that why are people expected to sleep in beds near someine who stinks like a tramp? Please please get that man cleaned up. Is there no compas soon or common sense in hospitals?
