I gave birth to my first child in the pool at birthing unit with two fantastic midwifes.
Held my baby in 4 hours cant thank them enough. Lovely unit overall with friendly midwifes!
After my lovely birthing experience had to stay over F11 ward during the night alone. They didnt allow my husband to stay and take care off me. I had episiotomy and struggled so much lifting my baby for feeds even going to the dirty cold toilet was an hassle (had to take my baby with me). Being a first time mother, no one came to show me how to change nappies or breast feed knowing my baby had latching problem. That night i couldn't rest or sleep. There was only a few mothers including myself but I had to press the button to remind the nurses for my painkillers every 4 hours . Moving from busy London to Bury thought the hospital (nurses) would be more helpful and organised ( at least bringing my painkillers) but instead they left me to think about everything. Reading the reviews before giving birth left me thinking but still had my fingers cross. Would not recommend F11 ward to anyone. Good luck for future mothers out there hope you’ll experience better service from F11 ward.
