"Although she was busy, she took the time to care for everyone"

About: The Royal Liverpool University Hospital / Accident and emergency

(as a relative),

I brought my mother into A& E   not so long ago and was quite surprised at how busy it was. My mother had to wait hours to be seen but thankfully we had a cubicle to wait in and not in the corridor.

My mother is slowly recovering thanks to all staff involved both in A& E and the surgical ward. Dr Steven in A& E was fantastic, took the time to explain things and listen. A nurse in particular stood out for us. Sandra. We can’t forget her. The department was manic and she kept her cool throughout, all my mother and I saw was her constantly on the move and doing everything to keep what it seems like a million patients safe. Fascinating to watch, although she was busy, she took the time to care for everyone and gave us plenty of reassurance which made a huge difference.

Thanks to all in the Royal for the hard work!

Thank you for your lovely comments about our Emergency department team and the staff on the surgical ward. We are pleased that your mother is recovering and that you had a good experience while at the Royal. We will pass on your kind comments to our staff.
