"Wish all Hospitals were as good as Blakelands MK"

Hospital visits are treated by me with trepidation however attending Blakelands in December 2017 was an amazing experience. No Hospital smells, no crowded waiting ares, no dirty corridors, in fact quite the opposite, a clean friendly atmosphere, wide spaces and positively comfortable clean chairs with space around you. Reception was pleasant with a very helpful receptionist, the time of my appointment was kept too unlike the normal hour or two wait. My initial meeting with the surgeon was a very pleasant one, his attitude was one of putting you at ease and explaining very precisely what he needed to do to make me as comfortable as possible, he then advised that he would endeavor to get me in as soon as possible. One week later I attended a pre-operation meeting with a very experienced and helpful nurse.

The nursing staff explained what my operation would be like and answered all my questions as well as taking weight, height etc. It was good to know exactly what would happen when I attended for my operation which again was only a matter of 10 days away. I had my operation yesterday it was better than I expected, I was called in exactly on the allotted time, Changed and gowned up the Surgeon came to see me and he chatted about what he was going to do in easy words that I understood, he advised that the local anesthetic injection would be a little uncomfortable this was true but not as bad as I expected. Ten minutes or thereabouts my Carpal Tunnel operation was done and my hand all wrapped up, cup of tea and a little bit of paperwork and I was free to go home. Absolutely amazed with so much professionalism and care and even the surgeon came to see I felt ok, unlike most hospital visits I felt I was treated as a person not just a number even this morning the hospital rang me at home to see if I was comfortable and I had had a good night. I would have no hesitation in returning should I need any further treatment to my other hand. Everything about Blakelands is not just 5 Star it is 10 Star as far as I am concerned. Plus a huge bonus no charges for Parking.
