The Cassel hospital is made out to be The best place to get help for those suffering from personality disorders. However the expectation and reality are vastly different.
The Cassel's treatment regime may work for some but the amount of people is doesn't work for us equal if not greater. Some of the main issues could be easily rectified if the hospital was sufficiently staffed. For example, given that the majority of patients reside outside of London, there is zero support for those who have difficulty travelling.
The hospital is grossly under staffed, or at least that was the case during my "treatment". Treatment which after 9 months of incredibly hard work, made me worse rather than better.
I understand that those with BPD can be difficult to treat.
As I said the programme works for some, but in my opinion, until the staffing issues are fixed, the treatment is just plain dangerous.
Good luck to all current and future patients and I hope it works for you where it didn't for me.
