"Gone down hill fast and it’s getting worse"

About: Riverside Medical Centre

Been atvthis drs all my life, it’s never been as awful as the is now, Struggle to get a appointment for my 8 year old asthmatic son, because no matter what time you ring you can’t get in. Especially hard for single working people/ parents like myself who would find sit & wait everyday very hard, today has been the 2nd time in a few months that I’ve had to take my son to the local A&E department (fantastic officiant service) to be looked at & given medication such as steroids or antibiotics to clear bad infection either because you cannot get in to see a doctor for love nor money or you take time off work, lose money to go to sit and wait and are just fobbed Off with “its viral” which in my sons case turns into something worse every single time, rude receptionists, incompetent asthma nurses.. struggle to get a prescription because there’s no repeat prescription line to order, Awful for people who can’t get out to order their tablets in person so end up going without crucial drugs. Awful, awful practice. Zero trust or care about its patients whatsoever.

Dear Patient

thank you for your comments - we are sorry to hear that you feel this way. In order to deal with your complaints, it would be useful if you would contact me to discuss the issues you raise so we can investigate these concerns fully.

In response, our Sit & Wait sessions ensure that patients who feel they need to be seen, can be seen, and yes the waiting times can be lengthy, however, our Duty Doctor can telephone patients who may not be able to attend to assess the urgency of the patients needs in order to ensure that we can offer a suitable time if unable to sit & wait.

We now provide appointments out of hours from 6pm until 10pm (at other Location) in order to meet the needs of those patients unable to be addressed during our normal working hours.

We provide a variety of ways to request repeat prescriptions, including Pharmacy ordering for the vulnerable patients who find it difficult to manage their medications.

We do our utmost to provide a variety of services which we believe meet the needs of our patients

Mrs C Wilson

Practice Manager
