"excellent service"

About: Scunthorpe General Hospital / Accident and emergency

I injured my wrist and went to the Emergency Centre to have it checked because I thought it might be broken. After checking in at reception with a really pleasant receptionist, a nurse asked what had happened and what medication I’d had. I waited about 10 minutes and was seen by another nurse in a room. He checked my wrist and asked for details of what had happened. He referred me to the X-ray dept. I waited there for 25 minutes while about 5 people were seen before I went for my x-ray. I returned to reception and waited another 6 or 7 minutes and returned to the nurse who showed me my x-rays. After some discussion he said there was no break and referred me t another nurse who would put a splint on my wrist. After about 10 minutes another pleasant nurse put a splint on and then I was directed to the pharmacy for some pain killers. I waited about 8 minutes and that was it! The whole visit was 1 hr 45 mins. It was an efficient, smooth and reassuring experience. At all times I felt that I was being cared for and staff wanted to help.
