"Horrible"

My 3 year old son is asthmatic. He needed to be seen regarding a bad cough. Luckily they were quick in getting him seen as it was a saturday I couldn't go to his normal GP. The doctor saw him and said he needed a different type of inhaler to what he currently had which I suspected anyway. She then said I would need to take him to see his doctor and sent him on his way. I can't get him to the GP until Monday and ive now got another night with him struggling, wheezing and coughing all night. Absolte waste of time I'm so upset.

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with MedOCC. As an Out Of Hours provider, MedOCC assesses a patient and responds to any acute needs they may have. Should the MedOCC GP feel that a more on-going change of medication or other intervention (for example a non-urgent secondary care referral) might be indicated, it is the standard practice for MedOCC to direct the patient back to their own GP to discuss the issue further. This is because the registered GP would have access to the patient's full medical record, and would be best placed to instigate any longer-term changes.
